Cookbook Journey 1: About the book

This past week has been crazy! Without going into too much detail, it involved my car overheating on the highway, a 3hr trip to the hospital, numerous tests with doctors, a birthday, a farewell and my parents anniversary! What a week! Our mid-year trip to Mauritius could not have come at a better time. Looking forward to the sea, salt and sand next week!

On the bright side, I also experimented with some new recipes, cooked up a storm and completed the first day of shooting for the Greetalian cookbook!

About the book

So just to tell you a little more about this cookbook… If you enjoy Greek and Italian food, this book is for you! Although it will include many traditional Greek and Italian dishes, it is focused on every day cooking with a European flair. The recipes are quick, easy to follow, mostly healthy and use fresh ingredients that are easy to find.

I was fortunate enough to grow up spending time with family in the kitchen or around a table of great food. So it was only natural to think of my family when deciding on recipes to include in the cookbook. Most will be old go-to family recipes from both the Greek and Italian side of my family, other recipes will be favourites from my blog and some will be brand new!

I want this to be the book you turn to when your in-laws are coming over for dinner and you want to impress; when you’re deciding on the first meal to make in your new home; when your friends arrive unexpectedly for a mid-week catch-up; when you’re looking to wine and dine on date night with your other half; when your kids want to help in the kitchen; and every week when you have the family over for that big Sunday lunch that turns into dinner.

Or when you’re cooking lunch for your parent’s 29th anniversary…

Don’t miss tomorrow’s post – recipe for Spaghetti Vongole!
